The Hawthorns is a pretty tidy ground really and quite modern. Away fans are housed in the Smethwick end and usually given the right hand side of the stand. The view is pretty good and you can make a good amount of noise. The home fans share the stand and seemed to be the more vocal and lairy ones in there but we didnt encounter any problems after the match.
The overall stmopshere is quite good although only the fans next to the away support sing continually. The stewarding was pretty relaxed, everyone was standing and there was a bit of abuse being thrown about but other than a few supporters being spoken to nobody was ejected.
The only major probems are getting out of the area after the game as the roads are a nightmare and theres not many pubs about.

Directions by Car
From the M5 Junction 1 take the A41 East, sign posted Bimingham City Centre. The Stadium is about 600 yards along the A41 on the right hand side.
If you go past the ground and keep on, passing the Royal Oak pub, there is plenty of street parking available although the area doesn't exactly look great. We didnt have any problems though.

There are independent car parks in the local industrial units, there is plenty of street parking or you can park at the Hawthorns Station.
Hawthorns Station is only 5 minutes from the ground. To get to the Hawthorns Station you will need to go to New Street station in Birmingham and catching a local train to The Hawthorns. There is also a Metro service which is served from Birmingham Snow Hill Station.
